at the bottom of page 86
We did not use past tense because the introductory verbs are in the present (I wonder - she wants ) but in number 4 should is a past form because the introductory verb is in the past( They enquired) we use the past when the introductory verb is in the past form
examples:
Where has he gone?
I wonder where he has gone.
I wondered where he had gone.
I hope it is clear now.
