- Activity Book: p.57 It only takes me ten minutes to get to the supermarket by taxi, whereas in the old days in the country, a shopping trip (used/had) to take half a day.
p. 48 The (roar/roaring) of a plane woke me up in the night. And what's the difference between roar and roaring?

Hi

1-In old days in the country , a shopping trip used to take half a day.

2- The roar of the plane woke me up in the night.

The difference between (roar and raoring) is that raor is a noun while roaring is an adjective .In this sentence we need to use  a noun.

Thanks

Hanan
