- Present continuous is used for (fixed arrangements) in the future.
Ex. I am travelling to Paris on Thursday.
This means everything is arranged. I got the tickets. I packed my bad. And got a reservation in a hotel in Paris.
- going to is used for plans and intensions
I am going to travel to Paris when I finish school.
This is a plan . I intend to travel
